Initial Taxi License Procedure

Complete the City of Bayonne Taxi Driver application – Page 1 & 2.
Initial applicants must make a fingerprint appointment by calling the telephone number or visiting the website listed on the IdentoGo form.
1. Note: When going to your fingerprint appointment, bring the IdentoGo form you were given with you. Failing to do so, we will not receive your fingerprint results, and it may result in the applicant having to be re-fingerprinted. Fingerprints are completed using our form with our municipal code listed at the top.
After you have completed your fingerprints, retain your IdentoGo form and receipt, showing the date you went. The date is needed in order to locate print results.
On Page 3, applicant must complete a physical. They may go to their personal private physician, or make an appointment with the City Doctor.
Taxicab Company Employment Authorization must also be completed by the company in which you were hired.
Call the Bayonne Police A.B.C. office no earlier than 5 business days after the date you were printed (telephone number listed above). If your prints have been received, and background has been cleared and approved, you may then make your appointment to pick up your taxi driver’s license. Failing to do so, we will not receive your fingerprint results, and this may result in the applicant having to be re-fingerprinted.
Payment will be accepted in form of money order ONLY. Please make money order payable to the City of Bayonne in the amount of $125.00

Please complete the 212A background check:
1. njportal.com/njsp/criminalrecords/
2. Reason for filing – LOCAL ORDINANCE
3. Please write confirmation number on the top corner of the application.

On Page 3, applicant must have a physical done. They may go to their personal private physician, or they may make an appointment with The City Doctor.
